We Wrote the Book on Coverage. Now We Write the Blog.
By: Michael S. Nelson and Lucas J. Tanglen
For decades, the Insurance Recovery and Counseling practice group at K&L Gates has helped clients maximize insurance recoveries through creative, policyholder-focused advocacy. Our lawyers have handled some of the most significant coverage disputes of the last several decades—from product liability and environmental claims to emerging issues involving cyber attacks, product recalls, and boardroom risks. While the challenges have evolved, one thing has remained constant: helping policyholders overcome insurers’ reluctance to honor their contractual obligations.
The Insurance Recovery and Counseling group has long been committed to equipping policyholders with practical thought leadership. Nearly 20 years ago, we authored the Policyholder’s Guide to the Law of Insurance Coverage (1997), the first comprehensive insurance law treatise written from the corporate policyholder’s perspective. Published by Wolters Kluwer and updated annually by our lawyers, the Policyholder’s Guide remains an important resource for risk professionals and in-house counsel.
Our commitment to thought leadership continues today with the launch of Insurance Law Watch: The Policyholder’s Guide. Through this blog, lawyers across the Insurance Recovery and Counseling group’s global platform and subject-matter disciplines will provide timely updates on insurance coverage decisions, emerging risks, and key industry developments. Our goal is to help policyholders navigate coverage disputes, policy negotiations, and the evolving insurance landscape.
We encourage readers to reach out to the authors of any post or to contact Michael Nelson, Practice Group Coordinator for the Insurance Recovery and Counseling practice group, or any other member of our team with suggestions, questions, or ideas for future topics. We look forward to continuing the conversation.
